The Crossing Company Inc., the leading provider of trenchless construction in Canada, has completed a complementary acquisition. Effective June 1, 2012, The Crossing Company has acquired all the assets of Dwayne Unger Construction Ltd. (Unger) including operating facilities in Grande Prairie, Alberta and Taber, Alberta.
This acquisition gives The Crossing Company immediate access to the busy Saskatchewan and Manitoba pipeline & utility sector as well as a strong presence in Southern Alberta. Unger was started in 1982 by the late Dwayne Unger. Over the past 30 years the team at Unger has grown the company to be a leader in horizontal directional drilling that has an extensive client list of pipeline contractors, oil & gas companies and municipalities. The acquisition of Unger will further enhance our rig fleet and will be of great value to our group of companies and our clients. Unger Construction Ltd. will be incorporated into The Crossing Company – LRD (Light Rig Division) and will increase the LRD fleet to 14 complete spreads. The Crossing Company group of companies now includes, The Crossing Company, The Crossing Company LRD, The HDD Company & The Tunneling Company. The combined group now operates 27 HDD rigs, and a fleet of tunnelling equipment.
